Bakken & Three Forks

Raptor Resources is a non-operating participant with a primary focus in the North Dakota Bakken and Three Forks play in western North Dakota and eastern Montana.  In 2008, when the extent of the Three Forks formation was unknown, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimated that the Bakken formation contained between 3 and 4.3 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil.  Since then, more than 4,000 new wells have been drilled.  The most recent USGS assessment, released April 2013, estimates the amount of technically recoverable oil in the Bakken and Three Forks formations to be 7.4 billion barrels with 6.7 trillion cubic feet of associated/dissolved natural gas and .53 billion barrels of natural gas liquids.  In other words, the USGS now estimates that the amount of recoverable oil in the formations in western North Dakota, Montana, and South Dakota is more than double their 2008 estimate. Together with the continued advances in horizontal drilling technology, the Bakken oil play is proving to be both high-yield and sustainable..

Raptor Resources has a strategic affiliation with Black Bear Resources. Although separate companies with separate holdings, Black Bear and Raptor work together to obtain mutually beneficial results by pursuing investment opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable to either of the companies acting alone.  The managers of the companies actively pursue business opportunities involving both Black Bear and Raptor where the combined resources of the companies can maximize results by utilizing the size and scope of both companies in business negotiations.

Williston Basin Wells

Together, Raptor and Black Bear Resources are one of the premier non-operating participants in the Bakken and Three Forks play. Combined the companies have participated in drilling over 300 Bakken or Three Forks wells in North Dakota and Montana since 2011 and continue to acquire acreage in the Williston Basin's Bakken and Three Forks formation.
