The management team has owned, operated and managed the day to day operations of 5 oil and gas funds since April of 2011. During that time they have managed to deploy over $20M in oil and gas investments, which have resulted in developing and participating on over 330 oil and gas wells.

Christopher J. Citurs, President and Chief Manager. Mr. Citurs is a graduate of Saint Cloud State University – G.R. Herberger College of Business. Prior to the launch of Raptor Resources, Mr. Citurs was the President of Citurs Financial Group, where for nearly 14 years he has helped clients achieve financial security through understanding their current financial situation and identifying strategies to realize their financial goals. Mr. Citurs has now taken his financial and business experience to one of the most exciting oil and energy plays in North America, the Bakken and Three Forks shale plays of western North Dakota and eastern Montana. Chris strives to help individuals achieve financial security for themselves and their families. He is able to accomplish this through his consistent dedication, enthusiasm, and eagerness to develop long lasting relationships with his clients. Chris attributes his success to the principals of honesty, integrity, and being client focused.
Daniel G. Koller, Vice President. Mr. Koller is a western North Dakota native and a graduate of the University of North Dakota with a B.A. in Aviation Administration and Management. Prior to the launch of Compass, Mr. Koller was a Certified Financial Planner™ and Wealth Management Advisor for Northwestern Mutual, helping clients plan and implement quality financial strategies for nearly 15 years. Mr. Koller is President and Chief Manager of Compass. With Mr. Koller’s leadership, Compass has developed a significant inventory of oil and gas leases and working interests on oil wells, and continues to capitalize on the significant investment opportunities inside the booming Williston Basin.
Matthew J. Baumgartner, Vice President of Land Management. Mr. Baumgartner is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a B.S. in Business Finance and a Minor in Economics. Mr. Baumgartner served his clients as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network for eight years prior to joining the Black Bear team in March of 2012. Since then Matt has grown and developed the financial role, providing forecasting, research, and analysis so that the General Partner and Managing Member of Black Bear I and Black Bear II, respectively, can make informed decisions project by project; understanding how individual investment decisions affect the model in its entirety. Mr. Baumgartner is responsible for establishing systems and tracking for all data, and building meaningful reports/tools from the plethora of information that comes into Compass.
Anthony A. Aderhold, Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Aderhold is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and the University of St. Thomas with a MBA specializing in Organizational Behavior and Management. Prior to coming on board with Compass and its affiliates in 2014, Mr. Aderhold was with Aegion Corporation, a small cap publicly traded company, specializing in infrastructure renewal in the energy, mining, water, wastewater and commercial/structural markets. While at Aegion he served as Director of Business Development, managing total sales in excess of $200M in revenue. He has extensive experience in contract negotiations, customer relations management (CRM) software development and implementation, corporate strategy, acquisition and merger review, data analysis and trending, and general sales management. Mr. Aderhold’s role with the Company is to expand potential leasing opportunities through intensive business development strategies and implement a CRM system that will improve data tracking, trending and analysis. Mr. Aderhold also assists with Company strategy and growth initiatives.
